A Warm Welcome from SUGRUHA!
SUGRUHA - The South City Group Housing Apartment Owners’ Association - is an Association registered under the Karnataka Apartment Ownership Act, 1972, which brings together the owners of apartments in the South City residential complex – popularly known as L&T South City - located in Kothanur Village, off Bannerghatta Road, near Arekere MICO Layout in South Bangalore.
South City project consists of 18 high rise buildings totalling to 1998 apartments. Over 5000 residents have made their home here, and the community continues to grow! We are a microcosm of India in terms of diversity of culture and language. We have a healthy mix of age groups, professions and vocations.
On completion of the handover from the builder the entire responsibility of managing this habitat will devolve on SUGRUHA. Meanwhile South City Maintenance Committee (SCMC) manages the day to day operations of the habitat. SCMC is a body jointly agreed to between L&T (the developer) and SUGURHA (the residents association) in the High Court as an interim measure in view of some of the legal disputes.
SUGRUHA is the association of the apartment owners. It stands for "South City Group Housing Apartment Owners Association". The word is derived from "Su" (auspicious or good) and "Gruha" (home).
Apart from ensuring that South City develops into a safe, pleasant, harmonious home for its residents, it is SUGRUHA’s policy to work towards making our complex a model community, conscious of its civic responsibilities in the areas of water, power and energy conservation, sewage disposal and protection of the environment in general – and of course good neighbourliness. We are already studying with the help of experts the infrastructure that needs to be put in place and other steps that need to be taken to ensure that we give to the neighbourhood and the larger community of South Bangalore as much as, if not more than, what we take. We also hope to be able to establish and maintain cordial relations with neighbouring RWAs for the furtherance of the common interests of the neighbourhood.
